The genius of the FlowX2 valve lies in the fact that to deflate the sleeping pad, the valve is flipped over, allowing air to escape but not return to the mattress. This turns the one-way inflation valve into a one-way deflation valve - preventing the mattress from filling with air as it is rolled up.
