MIGUEL NIETO SL Sports Cutlery Factory has its roots in the early twentieth century in a land of deep-rooted knife tradition such as Albacete, and was a pioneer of fully handmade processes by Inocencio Nieto.

It was in 1957 that Miguel and Inocencio joined their father to start making the most famous cutlery of that time. With great effort and the limitations of a small workshop, they managed to make knives that did not yet have their own brand. At that time, a suitcase and a motorcycle were essential tools for selling at the various agricultural fairs of the moment.

The M. NIETO brand would arrive in 1980 thanks to the initiative of Miguel Nieto Guillen and his sons, who took on a new and exciting manufacturing project under their own brand, which crystallized in 1987 with the founding of MIGUEL NIETO SL.

A constant desire to improve and adapt to market demands, as well as the pursuit of our customers' satisfaction, led to this new stage of incorporating different high quality steels in making our knives (Bohler N-690co, Bohler N-695, Sandvik 14C28N, Vanadium 1,4116 among others). Quality, the latest technologies and adherence to the traditions that gave meaning to their origin are the trademark and identity of the factory we are today.

Over the years, using different types of steel and from our experience, MIGUEL NIETO SL decided to produce a completely new steel that meets the requirements demanded today in a high quality product: hardness, corrosion resistance, edge retention and impact resistance.
This is guaranteed by Science and Engineering at the College of Materials of the University of Castilla-La Mancha.

Hardening is carried out in a controlled atmosphere furnace at 1,060 ° C and dried for 3 hours at 350 °, with a hardness of 58 ° to 60 ° HRC.
